GFF uses strategic litigation to defend our civil liberties in Germany and Europe – for example by challenging the Germany’s use of trojan horses for computer surveillance at the German constitutional court. Help us defend your fundamental rights:
Freedom needs fighters: Support our work at GFF
The costs of strategic litigation in Germany start at several thousand Euro. Depending on the length and complexity of a lawsuit, this cost can go up to tens of thousands of Euros. Still these costs are still relatively modest compared to other European countries. That’s why Germany is the ideal place to improve the protection of fundamental rights in all of Europe through strategic litigation. Nevertheless, to launch even the most cost-effective lawsuits, we need your support.
GFF is financed through the contributions of its members and donors. In addition, a wide variety of philanthropic organizations and funders such as Stiftung Bridge / Bewegungsstiftung and Open Society Foundations support our work financially.
These funds are used almost exclusively to cover the costs of our litigation projects. A much smaller part is used for our press and communications work surrounding the litigation, including for example the hosting of conferences. Our next goal is to put our lean, efficient organization on a secure financial footing in order to be able to launch more litigation projects in parallel. Our yearly transparency report is available on our website.
