John Philipp Thurn
Dr John Philipp Thurn is a member of the GFF Board of Directors and a judge at the Berlin Social Court. He studied law in Freiburg im Breisgau and Salamanca. After completing a doctorate on the welfare state debate in German constitutional law, he completed his legal clerkship in Berlin, including a placement at the Federal Constitutional Court in Karlsruhe.
In 2008/2009, he was a petitioner in the successful proceedings of the Freiburg Working Group of Critical Jurists (akj) against police bans on alcohol in public spaces and has been editor of the Fundamental Rights Report since 2019. He is also involved in the Forum Justizgeschichte.
