Svea Windwehr has been with the GFF since November 2023. She is an expert in digital policy and has been working on platform regulation and user rights for many years. Most recently, she was part of the public policy team at Google Germany, where she was responsible for issues relating to the NetzDG, the Digital Services Act, child and youth protection and the regulation of artificial intelligence (AI). Previously, she was a Mercator Fellow at the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, where she worked on platform and AI regulation. Prior to that, she worked as Coordinator for Inter-Institutional Relations at the European Commission's Directorate-General Connect, where she oversaw digital policy legislative processes. She is also honorary co-chair of D64 - Centre for Digital Progress e.V. She studied political science and international relations in Maastricht and Berkeley and holds a master's degree from the Internet Institute at the University of Oxford.
